Qualifications and Training
There are various options for those wishing to spend a year in the sports and outdoor activity industry. We have had many conversations with young people who’ve taken a year at other organisations and come out with little or no qualifications to back up their experience.
We make sure YOU benefit from your time with us. We ensure you have nationally recognised qualifications awarded to you so that whether you stay on with ACUK or not, you are able to progress in the outdoor activity, sports and leisure industry.
What we offer:
All our trainees will receive the same basic qualifications as they start the scheme. These are validated by the BFA (British Fencing Association) the BCU (British Canoe Union) and ArcheryGB and nationally recognised First Aid training. Trainees will also undertake comprehensive Child Protection & Safeguarding training. We offer a range of qualifications that, dependant on personal desire, preference and performance, each trainee can work towards.
Each trainee will receive the initial qualifications offered at their centre with all costs covered by ACUK. Trainees will then have an additional training budget (typically £150) from which they can pursue further qualifications relevant to their role.
As we’ve already stated, each centre offers different qualifications, and how far you progress depends on a number of factors, from personal ability, to desire to achieve the qualification.
